Jennifer joined the Marketing & Communications team as Director of Communications in 2015. In her role, she is responsible for the the planning and implementation of the University’s communications through media relations and social media and works closely with the University community and external media professionals.
She has more than 15 years of experience and a background in government, museum, non-profit and higher education communications and media relations. A native of Virginia, she has served in the Office of Governor James S. Gilmore, III and worked in the fine arts for the Roanoke region’s largest cultural economic development project. She has lived in Wichita, Kansas, where she produced communications for the region’s medical school and utilized her fundraising background at a local human services non-profit. She received a B.A. in English Literature and Language from the University of Virginia and a M.A. in Professional Communication and Leadership from Georgia Southern University.
